MISSION STATEMENT The Society is dedicated to elevating the standards for breast health care throughout the world by promising education, research and intellectual collaboration among multidisciplinary physicians, basic scientists, healthcare providers, patient's advocates, patient's self-help organizations and governmental agencies.

A NEW WAY OF IMPROVING WORLDWIDE BREAST HEALTH CARE During the past decades, international efforts were made to control breast diseases. The exchange of scientific information among different countries is valuable, but it is only the first step in delivering health care to women in need around the world. Discussing breast health problems with the patients, we have learned that the control of benign and malignant breast disorders cannot be achieved through biological research alone. Modern breast health care including both prevention and cure requires good communication between the patient and her caregivers as well as communication among the different specialists. Health care also goes beyond treatment of malignant cells. Equally important is the restoration and maintenance of psychosocial health.

The World Society for Breast Health (WSBH) tries to guarantee this necessary combination by offering a special structure. WSBH membership is not only possible for the medical and scientific community but also for the non-profit health services, self-help groups and industrial corporations working preferentially in the field of breast health care. These organizations construct a network of collaboration with health and political committees, government authorities and international health organizations becoming motivated to support health care, especially worldwide breast health care for women.
