SECTION I: FORMATION AND PURPOSE OF THE SOCIETY

Article 1: Formation

A non-profit international corporation named the World Society for Breast Health is founded and registered in the State of Texas, USA. It is hereafter also referred to as the Society in these By Laws.

Article 2: Mission Statement

The World Society for Breast Health is dedicated to elevating the standards of breast health care throughout the world by promoting education, research, and intellectual collaboration among health care providers, researchers, government agencies, and patient advocates.

Article 3: Goals

The goals of the Society are:

a) To help promote education and to aid in the circulation of information to healthcare professionals and the lay public concerning Breast Health and Breast Diseases based on scientific knowledge and principles by bringing together National Societies, Scientific Societies, and Organizations located throughout the World, that have for a purpose the study,prevention, treatment, research, or education about the breast.
b) To cooperate with appropriate Societies and Government authorities, agencies, and services on a National and International level to help promote the establishment of guidelines for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of Breast Diseases.
c) To establish issue based subcommittees to assess world breast health problems and define practical strategies fora solution.
d) To hold an International Meeting on a biannual schedule for education, to report on the past activities and establish further plans.

These actions are the result of meetings and gatherings, publications, conferences, and all such type initiatives that can assist in the accomplishment of the purpose of the Society. The Society shall have no political, religious or economic purpose.

Article 4: Location

The Society shall be registered in the State of Texas, United States of America. Its offices shall be wherever the Board of Directors shall so designate.
